You know, the story of the dark curse that hangs over this pair of socks-to-be is nearly as old as this blog itself.
- July 2012: Pickle and I go to the LYS, and he picks out the yarn.
- August 2012: I blithely cast on the socks on my way to Michigan, little knowing what mortal horrors I am entering.
- August 2012: Resentment at this first attempt sets in.
- September 2012: First attempt is frogged.
- February 2013: I find what I judge to be the correct pattern for attempt two.
- April 2013: I start Pickle's socks again and immediately steal them.
- April 2013: I explain what I mean by stealing Pickle's socks.
- April 2013: Attempt two is frogged as well.
- Sometime during my long blog hiatus: Attempt three is knitted on smaller needles, and is frogged.
- April 2014: I report briefly on the death of attempt four.
- June 2014: I finish a pair of Francie socks and figure out why the socks I knit from this pattern run so absurdly small.
- August 2014???: Roll up your sleeves. It's time to break this curse.
Oh how I sympathize with you! I have had the same issue in the past, I think we've all been there. Good luck with this attempt, I have a good feeling!
ReplyDeleteYou can do it, say a bit of a prayer to the knitting God's that this time it will all work. The yarn is too beautiful not to try again.
