The other stash.

I've been at Bandit's place for a few days now, resting and recuperating from my last semester. Aside from catching up on sleep and food, I've also been catching up with the portion of my stash that lives at his apartment.

Here's a shot of the commercial yarn that I keep stashed here. Bandit's apartment is also where I keep my yarn for home dyeing, but that isn't nearly as interesting to look at.

Right to left: laceweight merino from Rhino Fluff; Shibui mohair; Madeline Tosh Merino Light; Greenwood Fiberworks alpaca laceweight.

Top: Malabrigo worsted. Peeking out the bottom: Cascade laceweight.

Right: Two skeins of Artyarns sock yarn. Left: Cascade Heritage sock.

Do you ever take time to reconnect with forgotten stash?

  1. I absolutely LOVE digging through my stash! I keep most of it down near my washing machine, so when I do laundry I often find myself getting distracted!

What a nice way for you to 'come down' from exam time!

    1. Ooh, putting the stash next to the washer is smart. Extra motivation to do your laundry regularly!

  2. So many pretty yarns. I love that you have a stash at his house too. My husband may need to get another house so I can start storing fabric and yarn over there too...

    1. Bandit promises that when we get a house, he'll give me a room for my stash. I can't yet deal with the thought of filling up a single big room, but having several mini-stashes in different places is fine by me!

  3. First off, I hope your exams went well.
You've got some lovely things in your stash, though I had to laugh at the thought of a 'stash annex'. I can barely keep track of what I have in my house. Not to long ago, I went digging through my stash looking for something. I found it very quickly but spent at least an hour saying "Oh, I remember this!" and "Oh, I forgot about this!" and "Wow - where did this come from?"

    1. Thank you!

Do you find that your stash organizes itself into archaeological layers? Digging through the older, more forgotten content can be quite the experience!

  4. I wish I had a lovely bunch of yarn like that in someone else's house! They would certainly get a lot of visits from me.

    1. Hee, my boyfriend doesn't need to use yarn to encourage me come visit him... but he does anyway!

  5. You do need some relaxation time after semester stresses. Spending some quality time with your stash is a great way to start. You have some gorgeous yarn hiding away, I can only imagine how many amazing things you'll make with it all.
